Helpless situations

As I walked out of the shop today I saw a small boy. His eyes were red full of tears, he had a runny nose – he was screaming and running. He ran into the car park, behind him ran, probably, his mum. She was shouting at him “get here now! You are dead you hear me?!” the boy kept saying “no”. He was maybe 6 years old. The woman finally gave up and left him runnning in the car park. She walked away without looking back. This made me really sad. I was already to far to do anything, what could i have done, its none of my business anyway. What happened to that child?

This is the first ive seen a mother leave her child like that. What can you do in such situations?

I am the youngest out of 6 children, i cannot imagine a situation like that. My mum always did everything for us and my parents are still together after 27 years. My family is not perfect but i still think of my familly as rare. It is so hard to try and picture myself in the situation of that boy or even that young mother.
